Career Construction Supervisor
Leonard Altieri, Jr, 54, beloved husband of Laura (Hilli) Altieri of Sandy Hook, died suddenly on Sunday, July 13, at St Vincent's Medical Center.
He was born in Bridgeport on August 23, 1953, a son of the late Leonard and Yolanda (Epifano) Altieri. For 34 years Mr Altieri was a construction supervisor for Viking/Morcede and Sons Construction Co. of Stamford. He had been a resident of Sandy Hook for 22 years.
In addition to his beloved wife of 31 years, Leonard is survived by his loving children, Christine and Anthony Altieri; a brother, Louis Altieri and his wife Deborah; two sisters, Paula Bachman and her husband Eugene and Michelle Dellolio and her husband Nicholas; two aunts, Hazel Altieri and Anne Franzino; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, on July 17. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, Trumbull, will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Save the Sound, c/o Connecticut Fund for the Environment, 205 Whitney Avenue, New Haven CT 06511. Funeral arrangements were handled by Honan Funeral Home of Newtown.
