Betty (Elizabeth) Lucile Hammond, a resident of Pomperaug Woods, Southbury, died July 14. She was born June 21, 1914 in New York City, and resided in Monroe since 1953, before moving to Newtown. She was the wife of the late Donald Edward Hammond.

Loved dearly by her family, she leaves two daughters, Gail Svensson and her husband, Karl, and their children, Karl and Kristopher, of Sandy Hook, and Susan Younger and her husband, Paul, and their children, Paul, Alyssa, and Jamee, of Columbus, Ohio.

Services will be private.
