Dale Breuel O’Brien

Dale O’Brien, 78, died at home unexpectedly on January 9. She was born to Albert and Mildred Breuel in Bronx, N.Y., on June 21, 1940.

She was a graduate of Greenwich High School, where she was a cheerleader and academic honor. She was married to the late George O’Brien. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Thomas and Albert Breuel. She survived by her two sons, Michael S. O’Gorman of Boston, Mass., and Brian T. O’Gorman of Greenwich, as well as three grandchildren, Shannon, Devyn, and Shea. She also survived by her sister, Maureen Bohning, of Greenwich.

Dale had an avid love for gardening, reading, and gourmet cooking. She loved dogs and spending summers at the family house in Goshen. Early on, she worked at Hoagland’s in Greenwich and was a certified antiques appraiser. Later, she worked at Hollandia Nurseries in Newtown, where she made many lifelong friends. She had a vibrant personality and made friends everywhere she went. Loved by all, she will be greatly missed.

A graveside family service will be held this spring at the family plot in Goshen, Connecticut.
