Michael Albert, an artist based in White Plains, N.Y., will be bringing his Modern Pop Art Experience program to Newtown Congregational Church on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 20, from 2 to 3 and 4 to 5 pm.
As part of The Joy of Art classes run by Joy Hoffman, Mr Albert will be inspiring participants to get creative. The program consists of a short presentation where Mr Albert will introduce himself to the group and show examples of his collages made from the packaging of famous consumer brands such as cereal boxes, cookies, tea, crackers, etc. Then all participants will have the opportunity of creating their own collage. At the end of the program, all participants will receive a free signed print of one of Albert’s works.
The classes are free. All parents and children are welcome to participate in both classes. Each person should bring two empty cereal boxes to class in order to make posters.
