Special Event With Steve Linder Planned For Educators, Mental Health Professionals, Residents

Are you still looking for answers? Do you somehow feel that there is better way to move through the events of 12/14? Are you wanting to help other people and really not sure how?

Dr Melissa Bonasera and Newtown Leadership Institute, together with Building Newtowns (formerly Healing 4 Newtown), invite residents to participate in a special session with Steve Linder on Saturday, June 8.

Sessions will run all day in Newtown High School Lecture Hall, 12 Berkshire Road.

Mr Linder has dedicated his life to using and developing skills and strategies so that people can experience a life that is better than they ever thought possible, through their own choice and control. He has been working with families, teachers, students, and mental health professionals in the community since January. On Saturday he has scheduled sessions for mental health professionals, social workers, educators, and school administrators (9 am to 1 pm), and students from middle school through college levels (2 to 5 pm).

From 6 to 10 pm, there will be an open meeting for parents and anyone from Newtown and the surrounding communities.

Attendees will learn how to redefine their life based on what is most important to them, discover new strategies for helping others, so that they can make a real difference in the community.

Mr Linder is in very high demand around the world, training mental health professionals, military leaders, and business leaders. He often works in the most challenging human situations. He has worked with many people in crisis situations where the stakes are highest, including tsunami victims in Thailand, families from Columbine, and returning war veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Seating for each training session is limited due to space restrictions. Reservations are requested and can be done through Building Newtowns, via e-mail at buildingnewtowns@gmail.com.
