Understanding The Second Amendment, Lecture April 16 At NHS

What does the Second Amendment say? What did the founding fathers intend when they wrote the Bill of Rights including the second amendment?

One of the of the nation's foremost authorities on the Second Amendment and its history, Professor Saul Cornell, will speak on this subject on Tuesday, April 16, in the lecture hall of Newtown High School, 12 Berkshire Road.

Prof Cornell to offer an outline of the Second Amendment, its history and what it really means, to be followed by a discussion where anyone can ask questions regarding this important and not always clearly defined subject matter.

Prof Cornell is the author of two prize-winning works in American legal history, and one of the nation’s leading authorities on early American constitutional thought. His work has been widely cited by legal scholars, historians, and has been cited by the US Supreme Court and several state supreme courts.

The program will run from 7 to 9 pm. All are welcome.
