A Workshop Tailored For Newtown

To the Editor:

Kevin's Community Center is pleased to announce it has made arrangements with Mass General, Department of Psychiatry to provide a workshop for its professional volunteer staff on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) on Saturday, March 9th, 2013.

CBT is utilized for the treatment of acute stress, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and grief. The center will host six instructors for the day-long course. A grant from one of Mass General's major donors has made this training possible. This is a unique opportunity for KCC and a privilege to have a nationally recognized program sponsor and fund such an event, tailored to Newtown's needs.

KCC  was founded in 2003 by Dr. Z Michael Taweh, to honor the memory of his son Kevin. It provides free health care to the uninsured and underinsured members of the Newtown Health District
