The University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education confirmed this week that Superintendent of Schools Janet Robinson will receive its Outstanding School Superintendent award at its 15th Annual Awards Dinner, set for March 9.
Dr Robinson was chosen for the distinction prior to the events of 12/14, according to the Neag School of Education.
Dr Robinson holds a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from California State University at Long Beach, and also earned a master of science degree in counseling, and a school psychologist certificate at the same institution. She earned her doctorate, in educational leadership, at the University of Connecticut in Storrs in 2006.
In a letter to UConn alumni, Neag School of Education Dean Thomas C. DeFranco wrote in January that the 15th Annual Awards Dinner will be memorable, “as faculty and alumni gather to formally recognize the achievements of some of our outstanding graduates… Our award recipients are educators who have made significant contributions across all levels of education. We know that you will agree with our outstanding selection of alumni to honor.”
Other awards set to be given out during the evening are Outstanding Higher Education Professional, Outstanding Kinesiology Professional, Outstanding Physical Therapy Professional, Outstanding School Educator, Outstanding School Administrator, Outstanding Young Professional, Outstanding Professional is Dr James D. Spina, and Outstanding Alumni of the Year.
