The Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids (SHACK) winter ten-week session of classes will begin on March 11 and runs through May 25.
Registration is by mail or in studio during studio hours (check website). Class cost is $150 per student per session plus an $25 annual registration fee.

Unless noted, classes run for one hour.
The next series of classes include the following offerings:
On Mondays — Cultural Music & Movement, begins 9:30 am, students explore a different culture each week through music and movement; Intro to Theatre for Preschoolers, 10:30 am, acting, singing and a production at end of session; Mommy & Me Music & Movement, 1 pm; Messy Mondays for Toddlers & Preschoolers, 3 pm, exploration in art with various textures including sand, shaving cream, clay, goop and more; Musical Theatre — Elementary: “Grimm’s Fairy Tales,” 5:30 pm, production at end of session; and Musical Theatre — Middle & High School: “Grimm’s Fairy Tales,” 6:30 pm, production at end.
Tuesdays — Art Around the World, 9:30 am, explore a new culture each week through art; Mastering the Masters, 10:30 am, learn the styles of Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet and others; Theatre & Improv for Teens & Tweens, 90 minute classes begin at 6 pm;
Wednesdays — Mixed Mediums for all Ages, 4 pm, drawing with charcoal, pencils, pastels and watercolor;
Thursdays — Recycled Art & 3-D Sculpture with Emma, 3:30 pm for children in grades 1-6; Drawing & Cartooning, 4:45 for students in grades 7-12;
Fridays — Puppet Making for Preschoolers, 9:30 am, make puppets out of felt, paper mache, paper bags, socks and other materials, children will also put on a puppet show for parents at the end of the session; Puppet Making for Preschoolers, 3 pm, same class as above, difference start time;
Saturdays — Musical Theatre — K-4: “Grimm’s Fairy Tales” 10 am, please note this class, which will also have a production at the end of the session, will meet for eight weeks, March 16-May 4, and has a fee of $100.
All classes are held at Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids, 100 Church Hill Road (Suite 104, the former life’s a peach location) in Sandy Hook. The final performances for the theatre class sessions will be on Saturday, June 1, at 7 pm (location TBD).
Parking is directly in front of the studio or to the right/back by the river; parents are asked to not park in front of neighboring businesses.
