Newtown resident Melanie B. Isola and Sandy Hook residents Alyssa R. Carey and Harry R. Griffin were named to the dean’s list at Boston University for its fall semester.
Alexandra Korchman of Newtown was named to the dean’s list at New England College in Henniker, N.H., for the fall semester.
Joshua Freitas, a freshman at Bethel University in St Paul, Minn., has been named to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the fall semester. The dean’s list honors students who achieve an outstanding scholastic record during a semester with a grade point average of 3.6 or greater at the university.
Loyola University Maryland, Baltimore, has announced the members of its fall dean’s list and it includes Sandy Hook resident Mary Kopcik and Newtown resident Margaret Morrissey. To qualify for the dean’s list at Loyola, a student must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 with a minimum of 15 credits.
Newtown residents Katherine Burns and Lucy Riley were named to the dean’s commendation list at Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Penn. Gettysburg College students with a quality point average in the range of 3.300 to 3.599 for a semester’s work are placed on the deans’ commendation list.
Also at Gettysburg College, William Northrop of Sandy Hook was named on the dean’s honor list for the fall semester. Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester’s work are placed on the college’s dean’s honor list.
Berklee College of Music, Boston, announced that Zachary Gordon of Newtown earned placement on the dean’s list for the fall semester. To be eligible for this honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.
