*Friday, April 19, 2:30 pm, Mask Performance.
Larry Hunt of The Masque Theatre Company will bring his unique performance to HealingNewtown for a 90-minute program. The theatrical variety show will include several vignettes of non-verbal characters using masks, puppets, music, acting and dance to tell stories.
Target audience is adults and older children over 8. Students of dance and theater may have a special interest.
*Friday, April 19, 8-10:30 pm, Rocking Roosters Calico Ball.
The Rocking Roosters Square Dance Club will hosts a Calico Ball for new plus-level dancers. This longstanding group based in Newtown promotes western style square and round dancing.
The public is invited to watch and learn about the Rockin’ Roosters. Alan Brozek of Oxford will be the evening’s guest caller.
Please park at Newtown Middle School, two lots over on Queen Street, or Hawley School, just across Church Hill Road.
Due to the large number of people invited to this event, organizers are asking that attendees park in one of these nearby lots to free up space for customers shopping at Caraluzzi’s Market.
*Saturday, April 20, noon, Card Making For Kids.
Ages 9-14 are invited to join Linda Sugrue for a one-hour workshop to create a beautiful, hand crafted card for someone special with a variety of styles available for all interests. The theme is kindness and friendship.
