Genevieve B. Lacko, 87, of Southbury, died February 19, at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. She was born June 28, 1925, in Stamford, daughter of Agnes and Stanley Bedynek.
In 1948, she married Lester M. Lacko and resided in Stamford with their four children, until moving to Newtown in 1972.
Besides working at Pitney Bowes in Danbury, she was a devoted mother to her children. Upon retirement, the Lackos moved to Heritage Village in Southbury, where she was involved with the Heritage Village Association and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, her children Karen Marron and her husband, Stephen, of Newtown, Thomas Lacko of Naugatuck, Steven Lacko of Maine, and Elizabeth Randall of Southbury; three grandchildren; a brother-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her caring friends at the Lutheran Home of Southbury survive Mrs Lacko. In addition to her parents, a sister, Helen, and brother, Bernie, predeceased her.
Services will be held Monday, February 25, at noon, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Friends may call Monday morning from 10 am to noon, prior to the service. Interment in St Rose Cemetery will be in the spring.
