Ruth Lillien "Lill" Johnson, 92, of Newtown, died peacefully, February 28. She was born March 17, 1920, in Fredrikstad, Norway.
Her loving daughters Claire Johnson and Laura Johnson Memoli survive Mrs Johnson. Also surviving are four grandchildren, John Memoli, and his wife Sarah, Jennifer Young, and her husband Bruce, Melissal Memoli, and Christopher Memoli, and his wife Jennifer; three great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Johnny Delin; nieces, a nephew, and friends. Her husband of 56 years, Harry W. Johnson, predeceased Mrs Johnson.
Mrs Johnson was a kind, loving, and understanding wife and mother, dedicated to raising her family. Their happiness and closeness meant the most to her. Her inner strength and constant positive outlook on everything made her life so valued by those who knew her.
She was playful, adventurous, loved flying, and wanted to be a pilot. She was always young at heart and in spirit. Her love of the outdoors and nature was with her all her life. She was an active member for many years with The Sons of Norway.
During her time in Norway, she became a midwife, and a nurse to babies, skills and insights that never left her.
The Johnsons traveled throughout the world and one of Mrs Johnson's pleasures in later years was to look back and marvel at all she had done and seen in her life.
There will be no funeral services. A family gathering will be held at a future date, to celebrate and honor the memory "of a truly good woman."
