Elizabeth Ann McNulty Briscoe, 47, of Newtown, died peacefully, March 31, at Norwalk Hospital, after a heroic ten-year battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of Patrick C. Briscoe. She was born in White Plains, N.Y., December 5, 1965, a daughter of Geraldine (Griffin) and John McNulty of Newtown.
She grew up in Valhalla, N.Y., with her parents, siblings, and many dogs over the years, and attended Holy Name Elementary School. Ms Briscoe graduated from Maria Regina High School in Hartsdale, N.Y., in 1983, and went on to Manhattan College, where she graduated with a BA in 1987. She later earned her CPA and worked for KMPG and Pitney Bowes for many years.
A devoted wife and dedicated mother, Ms Briscoe loved being surrounded by family, friends, and her adored dog, Bally.
She was an active member of St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown.
In addition to her parents and husband of 20 years, her children Emma, Patrick, and Thomas; her siblings, Susan LoPiccolo, and her husband Frank, of Newtown, Mary Ann McNulty of Ridgefield, and John McNulty, and his wife Kelly, of North Barrington, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews survive Ms Briscoe.
Her family is grateful for all the continuous support, prayers, and acts of kindness. Special thanks are given to Dr Richard Zelkowitz and the staff of Norwalk Hospital Smilow Cancer Center.
Calling hours will take place Wednesday, April 3, from 4 to 8 pm, in St Rose of Lima Church, 45 Church Hill Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 4, at 10:30 am, also in St Rose of Lima Church. Interment will follow in Newtown Village Cemetery.
The Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, is in charge of arrangements.
