Christian J. Vossen, 56, of Bethel, died at his home, April 3, after a long illness. Born February 2, 1957, in Ougree, Belgium, he was the son of the late MaryJeanne (Borlez) and Hubert Vossen.
He leaves behind a sister, Silviane Carbone, and her husband Christopher, of Newtown; his daughter Stephannie Vossen of North Carolina; son Christian L. Vossen of Bethel; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
At the age of 10, Mr Vossen immigrated to the United States along with his father, mother, and sister.
He worked as a mold technician/machinist for Amphenol in Danbury and Winchester Electronics of New Milford, until he moved to North Carolina. He moved back to Connecticut to help take care of his father, who died this past January.
Mr Vossen lived a quiet life and took happiness from simple pleasures. He was a very good artist in his early years and could draw detailed cars and trucks. He was friendly and honest, with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by many who knew him.
There will be no calling hours; however, family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service, Saturday, May 25, at 11 am, at St Rose Cemetery, Cherry Street, Sandy Hook. Mr Vossen will be laid to rest on that day along with his father and mother.
