Frances Lucas Grosner

Frances Lucas Grosner, 98, of Stratford, the beloved wife of the late Daniel Grosner, died peacefully, April 8, in Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center, with her loving family by her side. She was born May 31, 1914, in Bridgeport, and was the daughter of John and Anna Krajnak Lucas.

Two sons, Francis X. Grosner of Newtown and Daniel S. Grosner, and his wife Marilyn, of Stratford; a daughter, Rita Singer, and partner Andrew Adam, of Milford; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Skerencak; and several nieces and nephews survive Mrs Grosner. In addition to her cherished husband, a daughter, Alberta Marie Grosner, and three sisters predeceased her.

Mrs Grosner graduated from Booth and Bayliss Commercial School and worked as a secretary. She and her husband Daniel were charter members for the Pre-Cana program for the Diocese of Bridgeport and charter members of the Holy Name Seniors. She was a member of the St James Seniors, St Anthony Guild of the Franciscan Associates, Sacred Heart Auto League, a member of the Baldwin Center, and sang in the Senior Choir.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation Center and the nurses and aids in Pavilion #2 for their care and compassion.

Funeral services will take place Friday, April 12, at 10:30 am, in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford, and at 11 am in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, from 9 to 10:30 am, in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home.
