Roy “Whitey” Madsen, 95, of Danbury, died May 19, at Pope John Paul II Health Care Center in Danbury. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., June 28, 1917, a son of Maria and Iver Madsen.
Mr Madsen served in the US Navy for 20 years. He then was the owner and operator of Madsen Refrigeration of Sandy Hook until his retirement, when he moved to Key West and Winter Haven, Fla. He returned to Connecticut in 2002.
His daughter Terry Qubick, and her husband Jack, of Newtown survive Mr Madsen. He was predeceased by his wife, Clara Jane (Coryell) Madsen.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
