Kathleen Brigid (McCausland) Gunn, 66, of North Attleborough, Mass., and formerly of Newtown, died October 18 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Born in New York City on June 1, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Cullinane) and James McCausland. She was the wife of James M. Gunn to whom she was married on February 22, 1969, in New York.
Mrs Gunn moved to Massachusetts from Newtown in 1995, and was a communicant of St Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, Village of Attleboro Falls.
In Connecticut, Mrs Gunn was active in many community events and activities, including the Susan G. Komen Walk, under Team Gunnrunners.
She was employed as an administrative assistant at the former Medical Device Consultants in Plainville, North Attleboro, prior to her retirement in 2005.
In addition to her husband, four children and their spouses, James and Laura Gunn of North Attleborough, Catherine and Walter “Kip” Thiele of North Yarmouth, Maine, Siobhan and Kevin Petho of Clarence Center, N.Y., and Erin and Michael Brennan of Yonkers, N.Y.; eight grandchildren plus one on the way; two brothers, Michael McCausland of Yonkers and James McCausland of Staten Island; and a sister, Mary Dionne of Newport, N.H., survive Mrs Gunn.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation Tuesday, October 22, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 am, Wednesday, October 23, at St Mark’s Roman Catholic, Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleborough, with the Rev Thomas Frechette, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, Mount Hope Street, North Attleborough.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleborough MA 02760, to benefit the American Cancer Society.
