The Newtown High School girls’ volleyball team will host Oxford for their annual breast cancer fundraiser on Friday, October 11. Oxford’s visit to Newtown High School marks the fifth annual Dig Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Match put on by the rival South-West Conference Schools.
The varsity contest is slated to start at 5:30 pm following the 4 pm junior varsity match. Dig Pink attendees are asked to wear something pink and contribute to support breast cancer health awareness. All money from the donations, raffle, and concessions will go to the Side-Out Foundation and also to the Sole Sisters, a group of Sandy Hook breast cancer survivors raising money for breast cancer.
