April NICE Night Set: "Ghandi," April 3

The Newtown International Center for Education (NICE) has set the date for its sixth NICE Night of the 2012-13 academic year.

The Wednesday, April 3, NICE Night is a free community event, which will include the showing of the 1982 movie Gandhi, directed by Richard Attenborough. Starring Ben Kingsley, the biography about Mohandas K. Gandhi won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for Mr Kingsley.

A cultural workshop on traditional Indian clothing, the art of henna, writing names in Hindi, and information about India will be offered on at 4:30 pm in the Newtown High School cafetorium. The movie will be shown following the workshop.

NICE Nights are sponsored by NICE, a nationally recognized grant- and donation-funded program of the Newtown Public Schools.
