Nicole Cheri (McGrath) McDonald, 25, of Seymour, died unexpectedly July 29, as the result of a car accident. She was the wife of Brian McDonald. She was born in Denver, Colo., March 25, 1988, daughter of Jeffery and Cheryl (Feeney) McGrath.
She attended Newtown schools, graduating in 2006.
Ines Freuler, 85, of Stamford, forever known to her family as “Schatzie,” died July 25, a short month after her birthday. Born in Bern, Switzerland, June 15, 1928, she immigrated to New York on the Queen Elizabeth in 1950. She always told her family how excited she was to see the Statue of Liberty for the first time.
rank E. Velky, 102, of Bridgeport, died July 27, at Connecticut Hospice. Mr Velky was born in Bridgeport to Martin and Julia (Pekar) Velky.
He was a founding member of the Cedarhurst Association on Lake Zoar in Newtown.
Sylvia Parsons Davidson, 100, died peacefully July 25, at Masonicare in Newtown. She was born February 5, 1913, in Newtown, to Louis Birdsey Parsons and Vivian Wetmore. Her husband, Howard B. Davidson, predeceased her in 2012, after 76 years of marriage.
Sal Cucco, 50, formerly of Stamford, died July 27, at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He endured countless surgeries and procedures with an ever positive and courageous spirit that inspired all who loved him. He was born in Stamford, January 18, 1963, to Alberto and Giovanna Cucco.
Jeannine C. Lombardo, 69, of Brookfield, loving wife of 50 years to Joseph Lombardo, died July 23, at Danbury Hospital. She was born January 29, 1944, in Membruggen, Belgium, to Leonard and Rosalie Stegen.
Robert James Curtis died July 18, at Candlewood Valley Care Center, New Milford, after fighting a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease for 26 years. He was born in Glen Cove, N.Y., February 19,1932, to Robert and Catherine (McGowan) Curtis. He was the beloved husband of Christina Curtis for 56 years.
