6.4	Newtown High Golfers Boast 5-1-1 Conference Record The Newtown High School boys’ golf team reeled off five straight wins between April 21 and May 1, then fell short in a tough match against Brookfield this past Monday and played to a hard-fought tie against South-West Conference nemesis Weston on Tuesday. The Nighthawks are 5-1-1 in the South-West Conference heading into their final five matches. After consecutive wins over Notre Dame-Fairfield, Stratford and Immaculate, on April 21, 22 and 24 respectively, the Nighthawks traveled to Rock Ridge Country Club and beat Bethel as the Hawks combined to shoot a 162 to Bethel’s 178 on April 30. The Hawks returned home to the Newtown Country Club and got past New Milford (163-168) on May 1. They were beaten by Brookfield (165-169) at Sunset Hill on Monday and played to a five-card 190-190 tie with Weston at home on Tuesday. Read More...	5/8/2008 2:57:53 PM
