Supporters of a "National Compassion Fund" are looking beyond the efforts of Newtown officials including First Selectman Pat Llodra, who want to see the largest victims' fund amassed following the 12/14 tragedy kept under local control. Slipping over a stone riverbed for the first time in decades is a tributary flowing through Dickinson Park. The stream now runs from a bog across Point O’ Rocks Road to Deep Brook, which winds through the park. Resurfaced in the fall of 2012, the stream had previously been piped underground.

Water and Sewer Authority (WSA) Chairman Richard Zang explained this week that a public hearing, started on March 21, was the first step in a long review process for a local developer’s proposal for a cluster housing complex off Castle Hill Road.
Mr Zang referred to GLT Development Corporation’s proposal to construct up to 136 cluster-style individual single-family houses at a 136-acre site at #20 and #60 Castle Hill Road.

Those looking to stretch their legs, donate to a good cause, and honor the lives and memories of the victims and first responders of the tragedies of 9/11 and 12/14 can sign up for the 9/11 Memorial 5k Run/Walk and Family Day in Manhattan on April 21. A Sandy Hook Promise team is recruiting athletes of all ability levels to participate in the event.
Team Captain Ellen Bowen is organizing the effort and hopes to enlist at least 26 participants, “one for each life lost.”
