  • Veterans Mural Gets New Names And Admirers

    Each letter was precise. Each name inscribed at the Newtown Municipal Center honored a veteran serviceman or woman from Newtown who has served in the military in the past several decades. Another tribute to veterans of prior years hangs in the Edmond Town Hall.

  • Veterans Mural To Be Formally Unveiled November 9

    “It’s up,” said Laurie McCollum, who has been working for months to coordinate a new veteran’s mural by artist David Merrill. And, “it’s amazing,” she said.

    The mural is now covered and hanging at Newtown Municipal Center, awaiting its unveiling at a small ceremony on November 9 at 11 am.

  • SCAN Bringing "Color In March" To Municipal Center With Three Week Exhibition

    The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) is presenting “Color In March,” a special exhibition of members’ works, at Newtown Municipal Center until March 29.

    At least 100 paintings were expected for the show, done in oil, watercolor, acrylics, pastels, prints, graphics and mixed media. All pieces are original and available for purchase, with partial proceeds of each sale to benefit the local artists’s group.
