    The Newtown Public Schools will have a two hour delay and there will be no morning pre-kindergarten on Friday, January 10, due to the weather.

    Due to the anticipated weather, the Newtown Public Schools will be closed Friday, January 3.

    Due to the weather, all Newtown Public Schools will be running on a two hour delay on Wednesday, December 18.

  • Newtown Prevention Council Hears Substance Abuse Survey Results

    Newtown Prevention Council (NPC) heard a summary last month of the 2013 Youth Survey Report by Archie Swindell of Quantitative Services. The news received during the September 19 was mixed. The survey found that local youth are smoking less… tobacco, that is. Marijuana is another thing.

  • Newtown Public Schools, Community Focus Group

    The Newtown Board of Education is inviting the community to participate in the superintendent search process.

    The board is asking community members to attend a focus group to provide input about the strengths, challenges, and leadership qualities desired in the next superintendent. The Community focus group is scheduled for Monday, October 7, at 6:30 pm Newtown High School’s Lecture Hall.
