William “Bill” Wallace Millard, Jr, 67, of Newtown died December 21 at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born December 8, 1947, in Danbury. He was the son of the late Catherine (Lake) and William Millard.
Following his education, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Anchorage, Alaska, as a helicopter mechanic. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he resided in Bethel for 29 years.

John U. Farley, Jr, 74, of Greenwich and Brookfield, affectionately known by friends and family as “Jack,” died November 12, after a nearly yearlong battle with cancer. He died at his home, surrounded by his loving wife of 47 years, Ann Janelli Farley, and their three children. He was born May 1, 1940, in Chicago to Virginia and Urben Farley.

John Martin Ryan, Jr, of Greenbackville, Va., born January 22, 1938, in Weehawken, N.J., died October 23, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Raised in Weehawken, Mr Ryan served four years in the United States Marine Corps, followed by eight years as a policeman for the Weehawken Police Department. The Ryans moved to Newtown, where he began his career in the fire sprinkler protection industry.

James F. Seeley, Jr, 81, a resident of Danbury for more than 60 years, and previously of Brookfield, died October 13 at his home. He was the husband of the late Lorraine A. (Carrine) Seeley. He was born in Bridgeport, and was the son of James F., Sr, and Lucy Ryan Seeley.
A 1950 graduate of Danbury High School, he attended Western Connecticut State College, and was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr Seeley was stationed in France.

Benjamin C. Patt, Jr, 81, born October 4, 1932, lost his battle with cancer August 3, at Hospice House in Vero Beach, Fla. He was a longtime resident of Connecticut, living in Fairfield County for many years.

James A. Connelly, Jr, 44, of the Westville section of New Haven, formerly of Newtown, died peacefully at his home July 2, with his faithful German shepherd, Maggie, by his side. He was born in Bridgeport, December 15, 1969.
Mr Connelly was a graduate of Immaculate High School and the Catholic University of America. He worked for the State of Connecticut, Judicial Branch, as a court planner. He also worked for many years for People’s United Bank and was CFO of Acorn Electrical Contractors.

Edwin John “Jack” Harrison, Jr, 73, of Newtown died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on May 30, the 50th wedding anniversary of his marriage to Beryl. He was born in Philadelphia May 1, 1941, the only son of Anna Peterson Harrison and Edwin John Harrison. His uncle was Eric Knight, author of Lassie Come Home, and he often talked of Eric’s dog, Toots, a Border collie that was the original Lassie.

Donald John Kowats, Jr, 46, of Newtown died May 15, surrounded by family. He was born in Bridgeport, July 15, 1967, a son of Carolyn (Strabony) and Donald J. Kowats, Sr, of Newtown.
Mr Kowats was employed as a carpenter, most recently for Riebe Construction Company. He was a true outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, ski, and water board. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Frederick J. TerHaar, Jr, 85, of Boynton Beach, Fla., died peacefully March 28 at Masonicare in Wallingford. He was born in Worcester, Mass., May 6, 1928, the son of Ethel (Monigle) and Frederick TerHaar, Sr. He also resided with his long-term partner, Carol Berube, in Wallingford.

Thomas W. “Walt” Kenny, Jr, 82, of Brewster, N.Y., died March 22 at the New York State Veteran’s Home in Montrose, N.Y. He was born in Manhattan, November 28, 1931, to Rose (McDermott) andThomas W. Kenny. Mr Kenny married Barbara O'Connor on September 10, 1960, in Belleville, N.J.
