Dancers from The Gray School of Irish Dance had a busy St Patrick’s Day season this year. Of course, it’s one of their busiest times of the year, with performances in local parades celebrating their talents, and this year students from the various schools — located in Newtown, Danbury, Ridgefield, and elsewhere — had performances in Danbury, Essex, and Norwich St Patrick’s Day parades, a program at Danbury Library, and other events across the state.

Young adult poets, jugglers, singers, comics, musicians and other entertainers are all invited to share their share your talents at Saturday Night Open Mic, an event being planned for Newtown Youth (grades 6-12) at Newtown Congregational Church.
The event will be Saturday, October 26, from 7 to 9 pm, in The Great Room of the church, at 14 West Street.
Microphones, keyboard, guitar amp and other instruments will be available. Live music only please.

Jim Allyn, Robert Rabinowitz and Martin Earley will co-host an open mic event at HealingNewtown Arts Space, 5 Queen Street, on Saturday, March 30. The event will run from 5 to 9 pm.
PA, drums, keyboard and amplifiers will all be provided by GuitarCenter.
This will be an all ages event for performers and music lovers, dance lovers and families. Attendees are asked to consider bringing bottled drinks, packaged snacks, or a pizza to share.

HealingNewtown Arts Space is planning an open mic event for Saturday, March 30, from 5 to 9 pm.
This will be a fun event for everyone, and an opportunity for those interested to perform. Organizers are hoping to hear from musicians, poets, comedians, jugglers… whoever wants to get on stage.
