  • Car Wash This Saturday To Raise Money For Dover Donuts

    The Dover Donuts, an Odyssey of the Mind Team of Reed Intermediate School students, are set to hold a car wash this Saturday, May 11, from 10 am until 2 pm.

    The event will help the team members raise money to cover the costs associated with attending the World Finals of the Odyssey of the Mind competition in Michigan later this month.

    Following the Connecticut State Odyssey of the Mind Tournament, held on April 6 in Bristol, five of Newtown's participating teams made it to World Finals in Michigan, set for May 22- 25.

  • NHS Odyssey Of The Mind Team Flocking Together Toward World Finals

    With participation in the World Finals of Odyssey of the Mind before them, one Newtown High School team has been “flocking” residents to raise money to make it to Michigan.

  • Bunny Watch Hopping With Excitement

    A bouncy house was set up, tickets were ready, and a number of “bunnies” were starting to arrive by 10 am on Friday, March 29, for the first day of this year’s Bunny Watch, near Glander Field on the Fairfield Hills campus.

    The Bunny Watch has been held annually for the last couple of years as a fundraiser for local Odyssey of the Mind teams. The event is set to be open from 10 am until 4 pm on both Friday, and Saturday, March 29.

    For the third year a Newtown High School Odyssey of the Mind team will be hosting a Bunny Watch near Glander Field on the Fairfield Hills campus on March 29 and 30.

    Last year the NHS Odyssey of the Mind team and a Reed Intermediate School team set up the second Bunny Watch as a fundraiser to help the two teams attend the national level of the problem-solving competition.

    Bunny Watch, 10 am-4 pm rain or shine, Glander Field and pavilion at Fairfield Hills, Mile Hill Road South, $5 per person, hayrides around Fairfield Hills paved trails, children of all ages invited to look for hidden rabbits, perhaps meet Easter Bunny, also lawn games, egg hunt, concessions (small fee), presented by and fundraiser for NHS Odyssey of the Mind Team, with help from Reed School team, continues March 30, cancelled only if torrential downpours or heavy snow
