    The spotlight found him center stage, where he quietly settled in behind the microphone. Guest performer Mark Barden, a Newtown resident and accomplished career musician, used few words, and let his guitars do the talking Saturday, March 22, at the Flagpole Radio Café, a local production now in its sixth season.

    Attention young poets, jugglers, singers, comics, musicians and other entertainers: share your talents at the next monthly Saturday Night Open Mic For Newtown Youth.

    The next event, for entertainers in grades 5-12, will be Saturday, February 22, from 7 to 9 pm, in The Great Room at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.

    Suggested donation is $1.

    Adult family members attending are invited to bring a drink or snack to share. All ages are welcome to attend the fun community event.

  • Newtown Youth Voices Continue Sharing Message Of Peace, Hope & Healing

    STAMFORD — Newtown Youth Voices will bring their musical message of hope and healing to the First @ First @ Four concert series on Sunday, November 3, at 4 pm. The group will be performing at First United Methodist Church, 42 Cross Road in Stamford.

  • Open Mic At HealingNewtown, Saturday Night

    Jim Allyn, Robert Rabinowitz and Martin Earley will co-host an open mic event at HealingNewtown Arts Space, 5 Queen Street, on Saturday, March 30. The event will run from 5 to 9 pm.

    PA, drums, keyboard and amplifiers will all be provided by GuitarCenter.

    This will be an all ages event for performers and music lovers, dance lovers and families. Attendees are asked to consider bringing bottled drinks, packaged snacks, or a pizza to share.
