  • Major Mixed-Use Project Proposed For Hawleyville Property

    The town has received for regulatory review applications detailing a development project for Hawleyville that proposes the construction of a large church, a major multifamily housing complex, and a diner.

    The mixed-use project is proposed for approximately 42 acres that lie generally west of Hawleyville Road (Route 25) and generally south of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84, near the Exit 9 off-ramp.

  • VBS At GFC, August 10-14

    Grace Family Church, 174 Mt Pleasant Road, is offering SonSpark Labs Vacation Bible School during the week of August 10-14.

    Sessions will run from 9 am until 12:30 pm daily. The program is open to children ages 4 to those who have just completed the sixth grade.

  • Major Hawleyville Project Considered

    Representatives for a local church were scheduled to meet with town land use officials on July 9 at a “pre-application meeting” to discuss aspects of the church’s major mixed-use proposal to construct a new church, a large multifamily housing complex, and some commercial space on acreage in Hawleyville. The site is located west of Hawleyville Road (Route 25) and south of the Exit 9 off-ramp for eastbound Interstate 84.

  • Easter Egg Hunt April 4

    Grace Family Church will host its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4, beginning at 1 pm.

    The public event will again be held at Treadwell Park, 49 Philo Curtis Road.

    This is a family event and all children up to age 12 can participate in the egg hunt.

    A program under the pavilion will include games, music, puppets, crafts and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

    Several hundred members attended a garden party commemorating the 30th anniversary of Grace Family Church, at the church’s scenic property at 4 Covered Bridge Road.

    Grace Family Church will host its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, at 1 pm, at Treadwell Park, 49 Philo Curtis Road in Sandy Hook.

    This is a family event and all kids ages 1 to 12 can participate in the Egg Hunt.

    Grace Family Church (formerly Grace Christian Fellowship) will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, at Treadwell Park. Children up to age 12 are invited; groups have been traditionall divided by age for the egg hunts. Saturday's event will run from 1 to 3 pm and will include a puppet show, games, and a visit from the Easter Bunny with a message about the true meaning of Easter, all leading to the big egg hunts.
