    Shane Vereen remembers hearing about the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School. He wears a green and white wristband inscribed with Angels of Sandy Hook on his right wrist, a daily reminder of a cold Friday morning in December 2012 when Sandy Hook suddenly became known around the world.

    “Our coach told us after practice,” the New England Patriots running back said Thursday afternoon. “He called the whole team together and he explained the situation, what was going on.”

  • Patriots Coming To Town, Young Athletes Encouraged To Register For Free Clinic With Current & Former Players

    Current and former New England Patriots football players be at Newtown High School to instruct youth residents ages 6-14 in free football clinic, “Football For You,” on Saturday, May 18. The clinic will run from 11 am to 3 pm.

    The event will feature a Patriots-themed activity zone open to the public. There will be a ceremony honoring the community of Newtown and Sandy Hook Elementary School.
