State police report that at about 3:35 am on January 18, they spotted motorist Melissa Toon, 35, of New Haven driving on eastbound Interstate 84, near the Exit 9 interchange, but failing to stay in her travel lane, so they stopped her to investigate.
State police said they arrested Toon on charges of driving under the influence, failure to drive in the proper lane, and two vehicular-document charges.

After learning that Newtown Police held a warrant for his arrest, Brian Riguzzi, 39, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., turned himself over to police at the police station about 12:30 pm on January 3 and was charged with reckless driving and with failure to drive to the right in connection with an auto accident that occurred on September 20, police said.

Police report a violent incident at a home on Eden Hill Road near the Easton town line on the night of December 11.
Police said that Abner Soares, 25, of Danbury, while armed with a baseball bat, went to the home of his ex-girlfriend and then smashed in a window there, gained entrance to the house and then smashed apart a glass coffee table within.

Police report an accident about 6:40 pm on December 5 at the flagpole intersection of Main Street, Church Hill Road, and West Street.
In the incident, motorist Deborah Johnston, 56, of Fairfield was driving a 2008 Nissan Versa sedan southward on Main Street and approaching the flagpole, as motorist Mary Malin, 17, of 76 Great Hill Road was driving a 2004 Dodge Stratus westward on Church Hill Road, police said.

Mt Pleasant DUI
Police report that at about 10:30 pm on November 13, they stopped motorist Kathryn Casas, 37, of Danbury for making a motor vehicle violation on Mt Pleasant Road, near its intersection with Susan Lane.
After investigating, police charged Casas with driving under the influence and with failure to drive in the proper lane.
Following processing, police released Casas on $1,000 bail for a November 26 arraignment on the charges in Danbury Superior Court.

Newtown Police responded to a Huntington Road location on October 1 at about 7:50 pm after receiving a report of a physical altercation. Upon arrival, police say they arrested a juvenile for disorderly conduct. The individual was subsequently released to a parent with a juvenile court date of October 20.

Huntingtown Road Crash, Charges
Police report that Loida Flores, 23, of 124 Huntingtown Road was driving a 2005 Toyota vehicle northward near 176 Huntingtown Road about 1:50 am on August 23, when the vehicle went off the right road shoulder and entered a ditch.

Lexus vs Cadillac
State police report a two-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 84, almost one mile west of Exit 9, at about 4:20 pm on August 19.
The accident involved motorist Mourad Fahmi, 58, of East Lyme, who was driving 2007 Lexus RX-350 SUV, and motorist Jonathan Levitan, 43, of Woodbury, who
was driving a 2008 Cadillac STS sedan, state police said.
There were no injuries. Fahmi received a written warning for making an unsafe lane change, state police said.

Police report that on July 8 on Hanover Road, a person found a Kidder-brand life vest designed for a female.

Queen Street Accident
A two-vehicle accident occurred in front of Newtown Middle School at 11 Queen Street at about 1:45 pm on June 1, police report.
Police said motorist Avis Ingram, 80, of Nunnawauk Meadows was driving a 1996 Plymouth Neon sedan northward on Queen Street, as motorist Janet Ziperstein, 40, of 5 Charter Ridge, who was driving a 2008 Chrysler Pacifica SUV, was attempting to make a left turn from middle school’s northernmost driveway to go southward on Queen Street.
