  • Masonicare At Newtown Hosting Blood Drive

    The American Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive on Thursday, September 4, from 1 to 6 pm, at Masonicare at Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Road. A bloodmobile from the American Red Cross will be located in the parking lot.

    The event is open to the public and community members are encouraged to consider donating. Donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. All blood types are needed.

  • CPR, AED, First Aid Classes

    Two members of Newtown Christian Church recently became certified CPR instructors, and have decided to share their knowledge with the community.

    Jamie Tanner and Kevin Kuzma will lead Adult & Infant CPR, AED & First Aid classes on Saturdays, October 19, November 2 and December 7. Each five-hour class will run from 9 am until 2 pm, and students will need to bring their own lunch.

  • Local Servpro Office Partnering With Red Cross During National Preparedness Month

    Servpro of Newtown and Southern Litchfield County believes there is no predicting when or where a disaster may strike, leaving property destruction and damage in its wake. But National Preparedness Month, sponsored each year in September by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), focuses the nation’s attention on the steps home and business owners can and should take to be ready to respond to emergencies, including natural and human-made disasters.

  • Lions Club Planning Spring Blood Drive

    Lions Club members Auggie D’Alessandro, Frank DeLucia, John Kopins, Bruce Walczak and Kevin Corey stand outside the lower entrance of Newtown Congregational Church. The club will sponsor an American Red Cross Blood Drive at the church on Monday, May 13.
