  • Opening Weekend Draws Hundreds To New Ambulance HQ

    Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps Chief Michael Collins, left, and longtime Ambulance Corps advisor and Trustee Robert Grossman, MD, prepared to cut the ribbon, officially opening the new ambulance headquarters on Wasserman Way on the Fairfield Hills campus. Last weekend, volunteers welcomed local officials and supporters for grand opening activities Saturday, and hosted a special open house for fellow emergency and fire responders Sunday, followed by a public open house.

  • Muddy Angels Will Shift Gears When They Arrive In Newtown Next Week

    The 2013 East Coast ride of the Muddy Angels, a long distance cycling event that honors EMTs and paramedics who have become sick, injured or were killed while performing their duties, will arrive in Newtown for a special ceremony on May 22.
