State police report they learned at about 2:28 pm on August 7 that an assault had occurred involving a Garner Correctional Institution inmate and prison staff members, so they responded to the high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road to investigate the incident.
State police said that interviews and a review of prison surveillance video resulted in criminal charges against inmate Jamal Coley, 33. State police alleged that Coley had assaulted two male correction officers, ages 24 and 47. There were no injuries, state police said.

Garner Correctional Institution, the state Department of Correction’s (DOC) high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road, which opened in 1992, now has its sixth warden, a man who served as a deputy warden there before being promoted late last year.
Henry Falcone, 51, who grew up in Bridgeport, is the new warden. Warden Falcone became a captain when he was assigned to Garner in 2006. He then became a deputy warden there in 2011.
Earlier in his career, he had worked at the Bridgeport Correctional Center.

State police report they responded to a serious assault in which one inmate attacked another inmate within Garner Correctional Institution, the state’s high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road.
State police said this week that on the afternoon of May 8, they received a call from Garner reporting an assault that had occurred about 1:33 pm.
State police said their investigation found that the altercation occurred between inmates Travis Hampton, 34, and Jeffrey Allman, 24.
