  • Pony Rides For A Purpose Brought Smiles To Children In Memory Of Jessica Rekos

Jessica Rekos had a love for horses. On May 4, less than a week before what would have been her eighth birthday, the community celebrated the way she might have wanted to herself. The Pony Rides For Jessica Team and King’s Bridge Farm joined forces and held the second annual fundraiser, Pony Rides For A Purpose, in honor of Jessica, a riding student at King’s Bridge who was killed on 12/14.

  • Join Jessica Rekos Foundation To Celebrate The Spirit Of One Sandy Hook Victim

The Jessica Rekos Foundation has announced that from May 4 to May 10, it will participate in activities that benefit organizations that best represent the interests of the foundation’s namesake. Jessica was one of the children killed in the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The week will begin with Pony Rides For a Purpose, at the Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard, on Sunday, May 4. From 11 am until 4 pm there will be crafts, entertainment, a raffle, and pony rides.

  • Jessica’s Camp: Equine Training At Kings Bridge Farm

Staff and students at Jessica’s Camp, a horse training scholarship program, posed for a group photo at the camp at Kings Bridge Farm on July 19. Rear row from left, are counselor Kelly Coughlin, instructor Montana Calloway, the Welsh pony known as Waffles, and counselors Michele Reid, Jess Coughlin and Daly King. The six girls in the front row were the first students to participate in the program.

  • Respect The Cemetery

    To the Editor:

My husband and I visit our daughter’s grave every day at St. Rose Cemetery.  We have gone every day for the past 163 days since she was taken from us at Sandy Hook School.
