  • A Look Back At The People Of Newtown, 2014

    Every year, The Newtown Bee is privileged to share the stories of Newtown residents and organizations, and among the many highlighted in 2014, were these stories.

    Newtown resident Paul L. Sirois was named executive director of Regional Hospice Foundation, as of January 1. A financial planner for 17 years, most recently vice president and financial advisor for Union Savings Bank, Mr Sirois previously served as chairman of the Regional Hospice board.

  • ‘Wags ‘n’ Tales’ Fetches An Emmy For Local Producer

    Ken Fay, an elder at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newtown, found himself in an unexpected and thrilling situation on June 7: being applauded by former Star Trek star and well-known actor Leonard Nimoy. Both men were at the New England Emmy Awards presentation at the Copley Plaza in Boston, recipients of what was a first for both of them, an Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

  • Unity Riders Arriving Today; All Related Events Taking Place At 2GHG HQ

    The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard will welcome The Unity Riders to the 2GHG headquarters today.

    The group is expected to arrive by late morning, and welcoming ceremonies are scheduled to begin right around noon, according to 2LT Ken Fay, public affairs officer for Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard.
