Organizers of the 30th Newtown Holiday Festival are hoping that guests of the December 6 event will not only have a great time at events for all ages, but will remember the reason the festival was created: as a major fundraiser for Newtown Youth & Family Services. House Tour Subcommittee Co-Chairs Kathy McLeary (seated left) and Brid Craddock (seated right) have been working on their event-within-an-event since February.

Newtown Youth & Family Services has partnered with The Caroline Previdi Foundation to offer financial support to families whose children may not otherwise be able to participate in select extracurricular activities.
The foundation was created in memory of Caroline Previdi, one of the children killed on 12/14. Its goal is to support children in Newtown and surrounding communities with the financial means to participate in activities, including, but not limited to dance camp, art classes, and music lessons.

To the Editor:
On behalf of the race organizers, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the eighth annual Newtown Road Race 5K. We had the largest-ever field of 687 registered runners in this year’s 5K and more than 130 smiling children participate in the kids fun run. This race would not be possible without the financial support of our sponsors and our incredibly hard working volunteers. All proceeds of the race benefit Newtown Youth and Family Services.
