Breakfast With Santa

  • The Top of the Mountain

We hear that 1,000 peace cranes are in flight once again. Extending the gesture of 1,000 folded paper cranes sent to the First Congressional Church of Santa Barbara by the Newtown Congregational Church, following the Isla Vista murders in California earlier this year, the Santa Barbara Church sent 1,000 peace cranes this past Monday to the Everett United Church of Christ near Marysville, Wash., where four high school students were killed in a shooting there, last month.

    To the Editor:

Smiles laughter and joy was felt by everyone that visit with Santa. [Breakfast With Santa on December 7 at Newtown Middle School.] I’d like to thank Motoko Ishihara Evans, Japanese Culture Consultant who performed a tea ceremony and origami cranes which were enjoyed by everyone. Later she wrote the children’s names in Japanese.

Thank you to Dunkin Donuts, Bagel Delight and Newtown Deli for their generous donation to make this event a success.
