Superintendent of Schools Joseph V. Erardi, Jr., offered an overview of the proposed 2015-16 budget during an evening Community Forum on Tuesday, March 10.
Others, including Board of Education Chair Keith Alexander, also spoke at the event, and time was set aside for parents to ask questions regarding the proposed budget.
The community forum was hosted by the districts PTAs and the high school’s PTSA.

The Board of Education voted to adopt its 2015-16 budget on Thursday, February 5, with minimal changes the superintendent made to his original proposal.
The school board’s adopted 2015-16 budget represents a $72,253,488 spending plan, a 1.27 percent increase over the 2014-15 budget.

The Board of Education is scheduled to conduct a public hearing on its 2015-16 operating budget on Tuesday, February 3, and its decision on the budget is expected during a meeting on Thursday, February 5.

Board of Education Chair Debbie Leidlein said as long as her colleagues support the idea, she is willing to have a dialogue with Board of Finance members and other town officials regarding budget and enrollment trends that were updated by finance board Vice Chair Joe Kearney last week.
