Newtown Cultural Arts Commission continued its Sunday Cinema Series with two screenings of the film Casablanca on Sunday, July 19, at Edmond Town Hall.
Newtown Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC), in collaboration with Edmond Town Hall and with support from the Law Offices of James O. Gaston, was able to showcase Director Michael Curtiz’s 1942 classic film, which stars Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.

This month’s Sunday Cinema Series will feature two screenings of a James Stewart favorite and one offering of a Bette Davis drama.

UPDATE (Saturday, May 18, 2014): The 7 pm screening of Ninotchka that was originally scheduled to be offered on May 25 has been postponed. Organizers will screen that at a later date, TBA. In its place, a second screening of The Wizard of Oz will be offered at 7 pm on Sunday, May 25.

Laura E. Lerman was elected chairman of the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission this week. Mrs Lerman succeeds Jennifer Johnston Cebry, an early advocate of the creation of the commission and chairman since its inception ten years ago.
Mrs Lerman was appointed to the Commission in 2012 and is also president of Newtown Choral Society.
Mrs Cebry will take the vice-chairman position, replacing Jennifer Rogers, who joined the Commission as an auxiliary member in its early years before joining as a Commissioner.
