  • NUMC Pasta Project Celebrates 25 Years Before Summer Break

    The aromas of garlic bread and marinara sauce mingled in the Newtown United Methodist Church hall and kitchen Saturday night, while Pastor Mel Kawakami and Pasta Dinner founder Martha Millett greeted guests during the final dinner event of the season. Dinners, and their subsequent coffee house events, will resume in September.

  • NUMC To Celebrate, And Begin Winding Down, 25 Years Of Pasta Suppers

    Newtown United Methodist Church’s Pasta Project will celebrate its 25th anniversary this month. The monthly NUMC Saturday Pasta Dinner will be this weekend, on March 7, from 5 to 7:30 pm, in the church’s lower gathering hall.

    The public will have two more opportunities to enjoy the monthly spaghetti dinner after that, longtime volunteer and project coordinator Martha Millett has announced. In June, the project will conclude its run of community gatherings.

  • Pasta Dinner & Bluegrass Music At NUMC Saturday

    The next Saturday Pasta Dinner at Newtown United Methodist Church will take place on March 1 in the church’s fellowship hall, 92 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook.

    The public is cordially invited to join church members for what has become an evening of fellowship and community spirit. This weekend’s event, according to longtime volunteer Martha Millett, will mark the 24th anniversary of the monthly dinners.
