  • Annual ‘Differences Day’ Celebrated At Middle Gate

    Middle Gate Elementary School students navigated one course in the school’s gymnasium using a wheelchair on Wednesday, February 25, while in another corner students wearing blindfolds used canes to navigate their way around cones.

    This year’s Differences Day, which is an annual event at the school, offered a range of activities and lessons to highlight differences people may have from one another. Fourth grade students at Middle Gate participated in the event.

  • Head O’ Meadow Winter Concert Assembly Held

    Before Head O’ Meadow fourth grade chorus students performed their Winter Concert during the evening of January 7, the students also sang their prepared songs for their fellow students during as assembly on Tuesday, January 6.

    Members of the fourth grade Singers group introduced each song sung on Tuesday, and Head O’ Meadow music teacher Cynthia Holberg led her students through each song.

  • Hawley Fourth Graders Learn About The Government

    To cap a study of the United State government, Hawley Elementary School fourth grade students attended a presentation by two local lawyers on Thursday, April 24.

    Elana Bertram, Esq, of Hawley Legal Resources, LLC, and Tara Dugo of Roberts Family Law in Darien both described the country’s judicial system and how it works for the students.

    “Good morning fourth grade,” Hawley lead teacher Roxanne Melaragno said at the start of the presentation. “Today we have a very special program for you.”
