I “paw-sed” to look in the case just outside of the Children’s Department at the C.H. Booth Library, last week. Four lovely little cottages, crafted by artists in California and Oregon, and cast in sand mailed to the artists from Newtown, are on display. The fairy cottages, each depicting a different season of the year, are lovely works, and worth taking a moment to look at, should you be at the library sometime before the middle of December.

In case you didn’t get in enough artisan crafts shopping during the Newtown Arts Festival, the Newtown based and women-owned Equestrian Hill Farm event planning is presenting the Autumn Harvest Event at Edmond Town Hall, Saturday, October 4, from 9 am to 4 pm. Nearly 21 area vendors have registered so far, so get your shopping bags ready to go.

It is not too late to go to www.ragnarrelay.com/race/capecod and pick out a team to support for this  year’s RagnarRelay, a 24-hour relay run from Hull, Mass., to Provincetown, at the tip of Cape Cod. There are several teams running this year to support Sandy Hook and Newtown foundations, and all welcome your donations (and moral support). The race is from May 9 to May 10, so don’t delay.
