  • Legends To Attend Soccer Night In Newtown

    Newtown Soccer Club, in conjunction with Newtown Kindness, announces the second edition of Soccer Night in Newtown this spring in an effort to bring fun and compassion to the community. This event will take place at the soccer fields at Fairfield Hills on Friday, May 17, from 5-8 pm. It is open to Newtown residents and Newtown Soccer Club members. This event is free and no registration is required to attend. Soccer Night in Newtown will include a variety of interactive soccer-based games and activities for children and families, including the opportunity to meet and get autographs from US soccer legends.

    Newtown High School’s boys’ lacrosse team walloped South-West Conference rival Bethel 15-5 on Treadwell Park on April 18, then fell 9-6 to nonconference foe Glastonbury at Blue & Gold Stadium two days later. The Nighthawks fell 9-4 to Joel Barlow of Redding on April 24 to drop to 3-5 overall.
