    Newtown High School baseball pitcher Pat Mullins threw a no-hitter in Newtown’s second game of the season, a 5-0 win over visiting Fairfield Ludlowe on April 4. Mullins struck out six batters and issued just two walks in the effort.“He located his fastball right from the get-go. He kept every hitter off-balance with that curveball,” said Newtown High Coach Matt Memoli, adding that his pitcher throws a fastball in the middle-80s and a curve in the 60s. Memoli also noted that his arm speed is the same with both pitches, making the speed of each throw deceptive.
