Matthew H. Gorham, 47, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Tracy (Geary) Gorham, and son of Howard W. and Barbara (Goerts) Gorham, died February 21. He was born January 6, 1967, in Danbury, and grew up in Newtown.
John R. Miller, Sr, 84, of North Fort Myers, Fla., husband of Janet Mahanna Yarrish Miller, died February 3, at Heartland Medical Center, Fort Myers. He was born in Bridgeport, September 7, 1929, son of Raymond E. and Mary (Schneider) Metcalf Miller.
Mildred Aldino, 91, of Stratford, widow of Leonard P. Aldino, died February 15, at Milford Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, March 14, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Anna Basco Nakonechni (Nakoneczny).
Charles Joseph Pascal, 79, of Newtown, died February 14, at Danbury Hospital. Mr Pascal was the husband of the late Jeanette (Arcuni) Pascal. He was born October 8, 1934, in Bronx, N.Y., a son of Charles and Anita (Broglia) Pasquale.
Cedric Carmichael, 92, of Milford, died February 11. He was born in Milford, May 13, 1921, in the old Stockade House when it was used as the first Milford Hospital. He was the son of the late Russell and Estella Carmichael.
Joseph R. Christiano III, 21, of Bethel, died February 11, at his home. Born in Danbury, July 21, 1992, Joe graduated Newtown High School in 2010 and attended Naugatuck Community College, where he was pursuing a career in Computer Science.

Mike Mayer, 74, of Pawling, N.Y., submitted his final grades after fighting pancreatic cancer for as long as humanly possible.
His wife of 50 years, Judith Upton Mayer; daughters Kathy and husband, Brad Eggleston, of Newtown, Jennifer of Elkton, Md., Deborah and Herb Burns, Wallkill, N.Y., and Sandra and John Baresich, Waxhaw, N.C. survive Mr Mayer. Siblings Susan Kane Roberts and Hale Mayer; and scores of loved ones and countless strangers he called friends also survive him.
William Frederick Hanna, 70, of Fishkill, N.Y. and previously a resident of Sandy Hook for 45 years, died February 12. He was born in Bridgeport, February 17, 1943, to John and Frances (Menedick) Hanna.
