Paul Anthony Lagnese, 60, of Newtown, beloved husband and father, died March 8, at the Danbury Hospital, in the arms of his family. He succumbed after a long battle with cancer. He was a native of Fairfield, born in the Mt Vernon, N.Y. Hospital.
Richard M. Skidmore, 81, of Newtown, beloved husband of Jennifer (Slocum) Skidmore, died March 10, at Danbury Hospital. They were married November 24, 1979. Born in Danbury, November 4, 1931, he was the son of the late Evelyn (Ackridge) and George Skidmore.
James “Jim” William Bruner, 74, of Buford, Ga., formerly of Evansville, Ind. and a former resident of Newtown, died March 5, at VistaCare Hospice in Atlanta. He was born March 26, 1938, in Evansville, to James Arthur and June (Cecil) Bruner.
George E. “Buzz” Coad, Jr, 75, of Southbury, died March 8, at the River Glen Health Center in Southbury. He was born January 1, 1938, in Waterbury, son of George E. Coad, Sr and Irene A. (King) Coad. He was the husband of Linda (Campbell) Coad.
Edina Nakano, 75, Newtown, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, died March 3. Born in Budapest, Hungary, she immigrated to the United States at the age of 19, after the 1956 Hungarian Uprising. She married the love of her life, Yoshizo Nakano, on February 14, 1959.
Eugene M. “Gene” Gardecki, 78, Sandy Hook, formerly of Fairfield and Bridgeport, died February 27, at the Masonicare of Newtown. He was born in Nanticoke, Penn. and grew up in Stratford, graduating from Stratford High School.
Anna (Lynn) Orr, 96, died peacefully, February 28, at Milford Health Care Center. She was born on September 11, 1916, in Centralia, Penn., a daughter of Anastasia and John Lynn. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Orr and beloved mother of the late Joanne Orr.
