    Diane Diebold Terni, 74, died September 7, at her beloved home, Brewton Plantation, in Yemassee, S.C., after a lengthy illness. She was born January 24, 1939 in New York City.

  • Elizabeth "Betty Lou" Osborne

    Elizabeth Louise Brown Osborne, known to all as Betty Lou, died on September 11. Family, friends, and her beloved dogs surrounded her as she peacefully passed away on the land that she loved, Appleberry Farm. She was a resident of Sandy Hook for 74 of her 88 years. Betty Lou, also known as Gram and Gram-the-Great, was a dynamic woman of strong convictions and a gentle soul. She and her husband, Jim, were welcoming and extremely generous to all. Appleberry was a place where one could find a peaceful respite, a home cooked meal, a ride on a pony, a new puppy, some fresh garden vegetables and, of course, a swim in the pool. You always had to be prepared for April Fool’s Day, her special day of magic for all. A memorial service for family and friends will be held Friday, October 4, at 10:30 am, at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown.

    Winifred E. “Winnie” Harrington, 84, a longtime Newtown resident, and previously of Saugus, Mass., died peacefully September 10, at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of Paul J. Harrington. She was born in Medford, Mass., August 1, 1929, a daughter of John and Winifred (Dutot) Forshner.

  • Nils Steve Svensen

    Nils Steve Svensen, 82, of Ansonia, died peacefully, September 5, at Griffin Hospital, surrounded by family. Born January 17, 1931, in New Britain, he was the son of the late Sven and Linda (Anderson) Svensen.

    Corrine C. Wright, 50, of Danbury and formerly of Stamford, died suddenly and unexpectedly September 4, at her residence. She was born in Stamford, August 16, 1963, to Carol H. Aguire and Reynold H. Bauer.

  • Arthur Johnson

    Arthur “Frank” Johnson, Sr, 80, a 50-year resident of Brookfield, beloved husband of the late Marion (Joyce) Johnson, died peacefully at Bethel Healthcare, September 8. He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., November 20, 1932.

  • Harry J. Walsh

    Harry J. Walsh, 86, of Sandy Hook, died September 5, at The Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was born in Bridgeport, January 25, 1927, a son of John L. and Anna (Crinock) Walsh. Mr. Walsh was the husband of Rita (Gebeau) Walsh.

    Vera C. (Ott) Nosal, 90, of Fairfield, beloved wife of 68 years of Frank M. Nosal, died peacefully, with her loving family by her side, September 4, following a brief illness. Born October 16, 1922, in Ridgeley, W.V., she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Fisher) Ott.

    Jean Duckworth, 78, beloved wife for 30 years of Robert G. Duckworth, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital, August 29. She was born March 27, 1935, in Manchester, England, the daughter of John and Emily Leicester. She moved to Canada in 1957, and then came to the United States in 1959. She was a long time resident of Newtown,

    Marc Danuszar, 84, of Westport, died September 2, at Masonicare of Newtown. He was born in Newtown, March 6, 1929, a son of Mary (Washicko) and Thomas Danuszar. He was the husband of Rosa (DeGrazia) Danuszar.
