Grace C. Manheimer, 76, of Newtown, died March 31, at Danbury Hospital. She was born in The Bronx, N.Y., July 29, 1937, a daughter of the Arthur and Frances Huston. She was the wife of the late Robert Manheimer.
Frederick J. TerHaar, Jr, 85, of Boynton Beach, Fla., died peacefully March 28, at Masonicare in Wallingford. He was born in Worcester, Mass., May 6, 1928, the son of Frederick, Sr and Ethel (Monigle) TerHaar. He also resided with his long-term partner, Carol Berube, in Wallingford.
Julius R. Kovacs, 82, died March 28, at his home in Summit, N.Y., with his family at his side. Born September 8, 1931, in Newtown, to Paul and Veronica (Balsan) Kovacs, he was a resident of Newtown until age 30. Mr Kovacs was a former resident of Danbury and Woodbury, as well.
Alan R. Dawe, 65, of Earlville, N.Y., died suddenly March 11, in Bali, Indonesia, while on a round-the-world vacation. He was born in Bridgeport, August 12, 1948, and was a son of the late Franklyn P. and Justine C. (Vorus) Dawe of Trumbull.
Helen Chaloux, 86, of Sandy Hook, died peacefully March 23, surrounded by family, at her home. She was born in Bridgeport, October 30, 1927, the daughter of Charles and Helen Grewcock, and graduated from Harding High School at the age of 16.
Joseph “Joe” A. Patti, 80, of Monroe, beloved husband of Yolanda Elizabeth Truini Patti, died March 24, in St Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., February 20, 1934, he was the only son of the late Michael and Ann V. Patti.
Thomas W. “Walt” Kenny, Jr, 82, of Brewster, N.Y., died March 22, at the New York State Veteran’s Home in Montrose, N.Y. He was born in Manhattan, November 28, 1931, to Thomas W. and Rose (McDermott) Kenny. Mr Kenny married Barbara O'Connor on September 10, 1960 in Belleville, N.J.
Joseph H. Lerman, 94, died Sunday, March 23 in Venice, Fla., ending a triumphant 72-year marriage to Gladys (Kanarek) Lerman. Born in 1919 in Manhattan, he was known all his life as Jerry, after a comic book character, Jerry on the Job, popular in his youth, who carried a toolbox wherever he went — a habit Jerry had as a child.
